I. How do I book you as my photographer?
I'm so glad you want me to capture your photos. The first step is to fill out the contact form on my site. I will respond within 48 hours. After connecting and discussing your vision for the shoot, you can pick a session size! A $100 retainer is due to book your time slot into my calendar. If you are requesting a wedding or large event package, the retainer will be 30% of the total fee instead of $100.
II. IF I CANCEL, DO I GET MY retainer BACK?
The $100 due at the time of booking your session is non-refundable if you cancel. I book your session into my calendar, prohibiting other sessions from having that time. This retainer secures your specific date and time as well as protecting my time and business.
III. IS THE Retainer PART OF THE PAYMENT OR ADDITIONAL?
The $100 retainer is taken out of whichever package you choose. For example, if you choose the mini package ($200) you would pay $100 for the deposit and then the remaining $100 the day of your session.
IV. WILL THERE BE A TRAVEL FEE?
Any session within Ventura County will have no travel fee applied. Any session that is farther than Ventura County will have a standard 70 cent/mile travel fee applied; therefore, the total travel fee amount will vary depending on distance. A travel fee will NOT be applied if I’m already planning on being in the desired area beforehand.
V. DO I GET TO PICK WHICH PHOTOS YOU EDIT?
When culling and editing photos, I will always select the best of the best. The photos that I don’t include in your gallery are any where you are accidentally blinking, accidentally making a funny face, your outfit slips out of place, or any duplicates. I do my best to make sure you are looking great in all of the photos you receive, and that you get plenty of images!
VI. HOW DO YOU HANDLE RESCHEDULING?
If we reschedule, it will likely be due to rainy or smoky weather. Rainy weather can potentially damage my equipment and makes for frizzy hair and runny makeup, while smoky weather casts an orange glow on your skin. Should we need to reschedule, your initial deposit will go towards your new session, and I will do my best to figure out the next available date that works for us both. Overcast weather is totally okay to shoot in, and it will actually help diffuse the sunlight; however, we may choose to start the session sooner if it's overcast.
VII. WHAT TIME OF DAY IS BEST FOR PHOTOS?
The best time to take photos will usually be about an hour before sunset, or early in the morning after the sun rises. We want to capture that dreamy, golden hour light. One exception to this is if the weather will be cloudy. Since the clouds act as a natural light diffuser, we can actually start closer to mid day. Another exception would be an indoor shoot, in which midday would be good due to natural light flowing into your indoor space!
VII. What is your turnaround time for delivering the final images?
For most packages my turnaround time is 2 weeks from the session. An exception would be for large events or weddings, which will typically have a two month turnaround time. Small events, like elopements, typically have a one month turnaround time.

IIX. What session should I book?
Most photography inquiries can fall into the timed session category. This includes my mini (20 min), regular (45 min), and full session (1 hr). Common types of sessions that would fall into these categories would be maternity, newborn, senior sessions, couples sessions etc. If you have a request outside of these options just reach out to me and we can create a session that will work best for you.
